Specialized car seats protect Trauma Services patients

Your generous gifts to Employees Care are helping our patients with special needs ride safely in their vehicles. Our Trama Services team treats children who have been involved in motor vehicle accidents and other traumatic events and who require specialized car seats following their discharge from our medical centers.

These car seats are custom-made and come with a hefty price tag, an expense that is out of reach for many of our families. But going without the car seat puts the child at risk of further injury and reduces the likelihood a family will be able to bring them back for a follow-up appointment safely.

Thanks to your support of Employees Care, Trauma Services was able to purchase 55 new special needs car seats for families in need, ensuring cost is not a barrier to safety.

“The seats are such a blessing to families. These are not seats you can run out and buy at a store, they have to be special ordered and they are expensive. Having the ability to provide these seats to families is just another way we ensure all the child’s needs are met,” said Sharon Evans, RN, trauma injury prevention coordinator.
