Cards for Kids
Cards for Kids are designed by Cook Children's young children artists. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to benefit sick children at Cook Children's. Over the years, designs created by young artists for Cards for Kids have changed, but the goal of making life better for patients at Cook Children's remains the same. Generous corporate donations help underwrite the costs associated with production of the cards.
Proceeds from Cards for Kids and the Enchanted Castle Gift Shop have totaled well over $1 million and many of the Woman's Board members volunteer in both programs in addition to patient care areas.
For more than 40 years, the Woman's Board has raised funds to enhance the medical center's child-friendly environment. Their generosity has helped Cook Children's purchase critical medical equipment, such as an ambulance, a van to transport homeless children to the neighborhood clinics, a playground and a prayer garden, as well as other identified needs.
The Woman's Board of Cook Children's Medical Center began as a volunteer organization in 1918 with a mission to help support the needs of the medical center.
