Wonderland provides the comfort of home during the holiday season

Every night, the Fort Worth skyline shines bright with the vibrant blue peaks of Cook Children’s. But come December, those blue peaks are even more magical with the festive transformation of our campus. As the holiday season arrives, Cook Children’s becomes a winter Wonderland that captures the spirit of giving and joy.

The heart behind Wonderland is all about bringing not just holiday cheer but also a sense of hope and delight to our young patients who find themselves spending the season at our medical centers. That’s why we do all that we can to brighten our young patients’ time with us — so the holidays are as hopeful as ever!

”Every corner is magical during the Wonderland season,” says Amanda Parsons, mom to a patient. “There’s everything from lights to hot chocolate. If we can’t be home, we can be at Cook Children’s.” Larger-than-life holiday displays cover the grounds, garlands and candy cane ribbons wrap every light pole, a 32-foot tree stands in the front circle of our Fort Worth medical center, and rumor has it you can spot the thousands of holiday lights all the way from the North Pole!

But we couldn’t have Wonderland without the support of our corporate partners like TTI, Inc., D&M Leasing, JAG Metals and Hiley Buick GMC, who fund these special decorations, festive events and themed activities. This support ensures that, despite their circumstances, our patients experience the magic of the season, and it also allows us to provide additional resources and comfort during their stay.

Wonderland offers many ways for businesses to get involved and spread cheer. Every single effort, from financial donations to volunteering at patient parties, no matter how small, makes a significant difference in the lives of our young patients.
