For nearly 40 years, Promise magazine has been your window into the heartwarming and inspiring stories of hope and healing made possible by generous donors and community supporters like you. Your contributions have been the pen that writes these stories, and we're honored to share them with you.
Our Promise to do everything for the child requires us to be thoughtful stewards of your generosity in order to make the biggest impact on the health and well-being of children and families. That’s why Cook Children’s Health Care System is embracing a more sustainable approach. We’ve launched several green initiatives, such as paperless billing, and now, Cook Children’s Health Foundation is joining in these efforts to better steward our resources for the good of our patients and the planet.
As part of this shift, this will be our last quarterly issue of Promise magazine. But don’t worry! We’re not saying goodbye — we’re just evolving.
Starting in 2025, we’ll continue to share Cook Children’s magical moments, but with a fresh, eco-friendly approach. Promise will transition to an annual print edition arriving in your mailbox each August, supported by our E-News of timely topics coming to your inbox every two months, as well as video stories shared digitally throughout the year — same great information and stories, but with a lighter environmental footprint.
We’re adding even more ways to connect. Stay engaged with us and get an insider’s look at Cook Children's Health Foundation happenings through social media by following our Facebook and Instagram pages. Visit cookchildrenspromise.org for all things fundraising, including ways you can continue to make a difference. Our website also features current and past stories from Promise magazine, so you’ll never miss a magical moment or inspiring story.
We can’t thank you enough for making Promise a staple of your reading over the years. It’s been our joy to bring you features like “Focus on the Patient,” “Partners in our Promise,” “Young Philanthropists,” “Advancing Medical Care,” and many more. We’re excited to keep sharing these stories in new and dynamic ways and look forward to your continued connection with the Cook Children’s community.
From our Cook Children’s family to yours, we wish you a wonderful holiday season.
Here’s to a greener, brighter future!
With gratitude,
