Dear friends and supporters of Cook Children’s,
As the holidays approach, we are reminded of the magic that unfolds through the eyes of children. At Cook Children’s, we see this magic every day.
Children have a unique way of finding meaning and perspective in even the most difficult of times. They inspire us with their resilience and their ability to turn hardship into something good.
This issue of Promise is full of stories that illustrate this reality perfectly. Scott Odom and Hudson Garcia are just a few examples of people who have used their difficult experiences to help others and we are so grateful to them.
We are also thankful for the dedication of our staff and clinicians at Cook Children’s. Award-winning nurse Audrey Turnipseed is just one of many who have made a big impact on the lives of our patients.
Our partners, like EECU, Dunkin’ and Circle of Friends, also play a vital role in creating moments of magic for our patients and their families. Their kindness and generosity make it possible for us to do everything from outfitting a young cancer patient with a wig to providing a fun place for our patients to just be kids.
As a friend and supporter of Cook Children’s, you play a role in creating this magic too. Your generosity makes all of these stories possible.
We hope that these stories bring you joy this holiday season. Thank you for your continued
support and dedication.
May you and your family experience a little magic of your own.
With gratitude,
