Generosity starts at home
The Shroffs help support our surgery center in Prosper with their gift
Providing high-quality medical care has always been important to Leena Shroff , M.D., and Nick Shroff , M.D. Now, their recent gift to Cook Children’s will help families in their new community for generations to come and continue the couple’s legacy of giving.
Leena and Nick Shroff left their home in India and moved to Chicago, Illinois, where they both completed their residency programs at Cook County Hospital. The cold winters sent the Shroff s and their little girls searching for a new home. They settled in Midland, Texas, where they both enjoyed long, successful careers.
Leena served as the esteemed director of surgical pathology and its associated laboratories. Nick excelled as a urologist and cancer surgeon. During their time in Midland, they had memorable moments with Cook Children’s, sharing in the care of their patients needing specialized treatment in Fort Worth.
Throughout the years, Leena and Nick have generously contributed to various organizations in India and
Texas, two places they hold dear and will always consider home. They have served others for decades and championed their local communities. Now retired in Plano, they are inspired to support their newest community.
On a tour of the new surgery center at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Prosper, Nick and Leena were in awe of the leading-edge technology and its impact on patient care. They witnessed firsthand how state-of-the-art instruments, wielded skillfully, would help achieve favorable outcomes. Leena and Nick’s decision to support the surgery center helps honor both their medical roots and their ties to Texas. This is a fitting testament to the doctor-couple who dedicated much of their lives to surgical and patient care.
“We feel blessed that our accomplishments can benefit the local community that we call home,” shared Nick.
Giving back is a legacy their daughters hope to continue. Reema Shroff, an attorney and founder of an event-based specialty company, and her husband, Naveen Kella, a urologist specializing in robotic surgery for prostate cancer, live in San Antonio with their daughter, Kaajal. Rita Shroff, a director at an event-based specialty company and her husband, Karthik Srinivasan, a pediatric hospitalist and health medical director at Cook Children’s, have two sons, Sachin and Vinay.
Their gift will inspire others: their own family and friends, along with every family that comes to Cook Children’s for care and treatment.
